HSG-DB Selected as Finalist in the CHEDAR Challenge

The Heritage Science Group Data Bank, developed at CNR INO in collaboration with Net7, has been selected as one of the three finalists of the CHEDAR Challenge, an international competition dedicated to developing innovative digital ecosystem solutions for cultural heritage.

Fully aligned with the ARTEMIS ontology, HSG-DB is an innovative FAIR heritage science data management platform, showcased in the video we submitted for the challenge (watch the video).

The CHEDAR Challenge attracted an exceptionally strong field of proposals from multidisciplinary teams working at the intersection of digital technologies, cultural heritage, and innovation. Following a rigorous evaluation process, the Review Committee selected the three highest-ranked projects, highlighting the outstanding quality of all submissions and noting that the differences between the top proposals were minimal.

Being recognized among the three finalists is a significant achievement for our team and an important acknowledgment of our commitment to advancing innovative approaches for the preservation, accessibility, and enhancement of cultural heritage through digital technologies.

The Organising Committee emphasized that the CHEDAR Challenge is more than a competition. It is the beginning of a broader community dedicated to building collaborative and innovative digital ecosystems for cultural heritage. We are proud to contribute to this vision and to be part of a network of researchers, innovators, and cultural heritage professionals working toward shared goals.

The final stage of the competition will take place in Florence, where finalist teams will present their projects and participate in the award ceremony. We look forward to presenting our work in Florence and engaging with the growing CHEDAR community as we continue exploring innovative digital solutions for cultural heritage.
